Astrid was found as an Umbreon with the fantastic and enigmatic ability to transform into a human, due to her being not truly an Umbreon, but an entirely different sort of entity from another universe. Her bond with a young girl she met one day grew great and the two became inseparable, however a time came and the young girl was killed. In her grief, Astrid let her guard down and was captured by scientists. However, she escaped captivity and set out in search of the little girl she had grown attached to. When she found her body, she used her powers to resurrect the girl's soul into the body of an eevee. The two are extremely compassionate towards one another. The eevee, named Annabelle, looks up to Astrid like a big sister and protector of sorts, and Astrid has sworn to protect the young child with her life.
Astrid is extremely stubborn when it comes to looking after Annabelle's well-being. She is also very clever, always being able to avoid being spotted by any humans that may have the intention of hurting them. She can use her illusions to mislead and misdirect threats.
Just as her bond with Annabelle, Astrid has a sort of fondness for all young children of the human and Pokémon races alike, particularly little girls. She will protect them as best she can as well, but not as seriously as her own little sister.
